Fix ADATA Flash Drive

To fix the ADATA flash drive, used a USB Flash Drive Recovery Online. System Requirements: Windows XP SP3 or later (logged in with Administrator rights). Type of damage can be repaired:
  1. File system = RAW / unknown
  2. Used space = 0 bytes, free space = 0 bytes
  3. Right-click the USB flash drive - select Format - Capacity = 10,6 MB (data can not be saved).
  4. Can not formatted (direct format, or format from Disk Management)
  5. When formatted = the disk is write protected (data can not be saved)
  6. When inserted, the flash drive is detected = Generic flash drive (data can not be saved)
  7. This software is used to fix a flash drive, and all data in the flash drive will be lost. So, do backup your data before using this software. 
  8. USB Flash Drive Recovery Online can be used if the flash drive is still detected the computer. If undetected, or USB device not recognize, there is a hardware malfunction.

Type of damage a flash drive, which data can be saved
1. Download and install software USB Safely Remove. This software can be used to detect damage firmware.
2. Connect the flash drive with a computer
If detected A-DATA USB Flash, meaning firmware is normal, data can be saved, but
If detected Generic USB Flash, meaning firmware is damaged, data can not be saved.



3. Open Windows Explorer - right-click the USB flash drive - select Properties
If detected, File system = RAW, Used space = 0 bytes, Free space = 0 bytesdata can be saved, but

If detected, File system = Unknown, Used space = 0 bytes, Free space = 0 bytesdata can not be saved.

4. Open Windows Explorer - right-click the USB flash drive - select Format. Only check capacity of flash drive.
If detected, Capacity = 3.73 GB (capacity detected), data can be saved, but
If detected, Capacity = 10.6 MB (capacity not detected), data can not be saved

5. Click START - Control Panel - Administrative Tools - Computer Management - click Disk Management
Flash drive is detected, but the file system = empty. Data can be saved

Flash drive is detected, file system = empty, capacity = 11 MB. Data can not be saved

6. When formatted, the disk is write protected (corrupted firmware) - Data can not be saved

Fix A-DATA Flash Drive
Step 1 (save data)


To save data, use data recovery software. Ex; EASEUS Data Recovery, Get Data Back, etc
1. Download and install EASEUS Data Recovery
2. Open EASEUS Data Recovery - select Complete Recovery - select drives USB flash - Next - wait until process is complete - select file you want to be saved -
save to your hard disk.

Step 2 (fix A-DATA flash drive)
1.  Download oru.exe. Open this link ADATA website
2. Follow instruction bellow (see the picture)

Enter; email, country, language, stay signed in, and Download

Check the serial number written on the flash drive connector, enter the the serial number, example: FMB020025, Write Validation code - Submit. After clicking Submit, the system will from automatically search for the correct repair tool for you to download.

Save file - OK. After download is complete, save the zip file in C:  -  right-click - select Extract

3. Connect the flash drive with a computer
4. Open folder - double click ORU.exe

5. USB Flash Drive Recovery Online, will detect the flash drive. Then press YES to perform repair, wait until process is complete - EXIT.
If the repair process fails, please contact ADATA online customer service

 6. After process is complete, remove the flash drive, then insert it again. If data can be saved, move data from hard disk to the flash drive. FINISH.
